How to go to Tioman Island from Kuala Lumpur.
To reach Tioman Island, there are two main options. The first option is to travel to Mersing, which is the primary gateway to the island. Alternatively, you can choose to travel to Tanjung Gemok Jetty from Kuala Lumpur. From either of these jetties, you can take a ferry to Tioman Island. Another option is to fly from Subang Jaya Airport to Tioman Tekek Airport, providing a convenient and faster way to reach the island.
Bus from Kuala Lumpur to Mersing and Tanjung Gemok.
There is few website which can buy Bus ticket from there.. . The early morning bus departs at 9AM and the night bus departs at 11:30PM for Mersing and Tanjung Gemok. You can buy the bus ticket online here from KL to Mersing or Tanjung Gemok. Other than that, you can also book the bus ticking online by clicking here. Tanjung Gemok is the nearest jetty, The traveling time from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjung Gemok by car is around 3 hours 30 minutes. One way ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Mersing costs RM 29.80. Buses are available at 9am, 12.30pm, 6pm, and 11.30pm from Kuala Lumpur. You have to walk for about 10 minutes from the Mersing bus station to the jetty. If you have lots of luggage, then you can take a taxi to the jetty that costs RM 8 (Malaysia Ringgit). When taking the evening bus, keep in mind that you might need to spend a night in Mersing as there are no ferry services that goes to Tioman Island at night. All Transnational buses coming from the Kuala Lumpur stop at Tanjung Gemok while going to Mersing. If you would like to get down at Tanjung Gemok, just inform the bus driver to stop.
Bus from Singapore to Mersing.
From Singapore (Lavender St. Terminal) take the Transnational bus to Mersing (3 to 4 hours). Tickets cost around RM 15 (if bought in Malaysia) / SGD35 (if bought in Singapore) each way.
Bus from Johor Bahru to Mersing.
From Johor Bahru (Larkin Bus terminal)take the Causeway Link, Transnational or S&S Express bus to Mersing (2.5-3 hours; about RM 12 each way): An alternative is to take the local bus between Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi and then transfer to the local bus between Kota Tinggi and Mersing.
By Ferry from Mersing Jetty & Tanjung Gemok Jetty.
Ferries depart from Mersing or Tanjung Gemok (north of Mersing). From Mersing, the ferries (150 passengers) can take up to 3 hours. The traveling time and departing time also depend on the sea conditions. Tickets cost RM60 each way and they leave every two to three hours between 07:30 and 18:00. Ferry and boat services are less frequent from Tanjung Gemuk, but prices and journey times are roughly the same.

First you need to drive, hire a taxi or take a bus from Kuala Lumpur / Singapore / Johor Bahru to Mersing / Tanjung Gemok Jetty.

About Pulau Tioman
Tioman Island (Malay language: Pulau Tioman) is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang, and is some 20 km long and 12 km wide. It has eight main villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek in the north. The densely forested island is sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a popular scuba diving spot. There are also a lot of resorts and chalets around the island which has duty-free status.
Its beaches were depicted in the 1958 movie, South Pacific as Bali Hai. In the 1970s, TIME Magazine selected Tioman as one of the world’s most beautiful islands. The island is served by ferries from the Malaysian mainland, and a propeller plane service by SKS Air from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Selangor.
Pulau Tioman is a part of Rompin district of Pahang, although it is geographically closer to Johor, and is accessed via ferry and flight service from the Johorean coastal town of Mersing. Within Tioman Island there are five and more kampungs such as: Genting, Salang, Tekek, Paya and Air Batang.
