Calling all eco-warriors and ocean lovers! Tioman Dive Buddy invites you to our flagship conservation event of the year. From July 17 to July 20, 2026, we're turning our base in Kampung Genting into a hub for marine protection.
Whether you're a certified diver or a snorkeler, your hands make a difference. Join us to remove debris, learn about coral health, and give back to the ocean that gives us so much.

- 🎯 Main Goal: Remove 100kg of marine debris & ghost nets

👥 Who Can Join?
Certified Divers
Open Water and above. Help us with the underwater Dive Against Debris cleanups at multiple reef sites.
Snorkelers
No diving certification needed. Help with beach sweeps, mangrove cleanups & shallow-water debris collection.
Eco Volunteers
Don't even need to get wet. Help with sorting, weighing & logging debris into the PADI AWARE database.
🗓️ The 4-Day Mission Agenda
July 17 — Arrival & The Big Briefing
Welcome to Kampung Genting! Check-in at TDB Tioman Resort, equipment fitting, and an evening workshop on "Identifying Marine Debris" led by our PADI Project AWARE specialists. Get to know your fellow ocean heroes over a welcome dinner.
July 18 — Dive Against Debris® (Reef Cleanup)
Morning: Two boat dives focused on cleaning debris from local reef sites — Renggis, Soyak Wreck, or Tiger Reef depending on conditions.
Afternoon: Return to base for weighing, sorting, and logging data into the PADI AWARE global database. Every gram counts.
July 19 — Beach & Mangrove Restoration
A surface interval day dedicated to the coastline. We tackle the plastics washing up on Genting's shores and ensure the mangroves remain plastic-free. Evening: presentation on coral health monitoring and how Tioman's reefs are recovering.
July 20 — Closing & Celebration
Final morning fun dive (leisure — enjoy what you helped protect!) followed by our "Ocean Hero" closing ceremony with certificates, group photo, and BBQ lunch before departure. You leave with skills, friends, and a story worth telling.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a certified diver to join?
No! While certified divers will participate in underwater cleanups, snorkelers and even non-swimmers are welcome to help with beach sweeps, mangrove restoration, and debris sorting on shore.
How much does the event cost?
Pricing varies based on accommodation type and dive certification level. Contact us via WhatsApp for the latest pricing tailored to your needs.
Is this event suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. We welcome new divers with their Open Water certification. Cleanup dives are conducted at shallow, easy reef sites with experienced PADI instructors.
Can I get the PADI Project AWARE Specialty?
Yes — there's an optional PADI Project AWARE Specialist certification add-on. Ask us when you book and we'll arrange the materials and instructor time.
How do I get to Tioman?
Take a ferry from Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty. We can help arrange ferry tickets and provide directions — just ask when you book.
