This course is designed to give you the expertise needed to teach others how to dive. Course Structure

Our PADI IDC at Tioman Dive Buddy is carefully structured for maximum success:

IDC Preparation: 2 Days
Get a head start with our optional but highly recommended preparation program. Review key dive theory, skill demonstrations, and classroom presentations to boost your confidence before the full PADI IDC begins.
IDC and EFR Instructor Course: 10–12 Days
This core phase of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) includes in-depth training on teaching standards, dive theory, confined and open water sessions, and Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor certification.
IDC Closing & Final Preparation: 1 Day
Wrap up your PADI IDC journey with a final review and hands-on practice to ensure you’re fully prepared for the PADI Instructor Examination. Our team will guide you through mock evaluations and exam tips.
PADI Instructor Examination (IE): 2 Days
Conducted by PADI Asia Pacific, the IE is your final step to becoming a certified PADI Instructor. Demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and teaching ability in both classroom and water-based assessments.

Entry Requirements

To enroll in our PADI IDC, you must:

  • Be a certified PADI Divemaster (or equivalent)

  • Have at least 100 logged dives

  • Hold a current CPR and First Aid certification within the past 24 months

  • Have medical clearance to dive (signed by a physician within the past 12 months)

  • Be 18 years of age or older
